We used to have random acts of kindness Friday at work. It was fun and then they started posting what people were doing and that ruined it for me. I think it should be anonymous.
What can you do that's free for others? Well, you could pick up some trash, pull out a weed (if you are sure), give up your place in a lineup, carry a bag for someone who needs help.....
the world needs more kindness, random or otherwise...great post.

Delores, what a great idea they began with! I think it'd become like a competition by publicising the actions, that's not what it's about.

I'm often tempted to pull out weeds when I'm out walking, but there's always that nagging feeling I might get it wrong. The trash idea is good and you can be pretty confident that it really is trash!

Hope your week is going well.

...not sure if it's a random act of kindness, or a parent's duty, but this evening was spent on the basketball court...two boys and their dad shooting hoops as the sun lowered below the distant hillside ;)

Made for a fun evening!

That's a great thought to wake up with (and follow through on) everyday.

Elliot, sounds good to me - being kind to your kids and having fun! what could be better?

David, random acts of kindness sure make for a happier world.

Robyn, you got that right! It's not just the thought, but the deed that's important.

I'd love to hear if you have other suggestions.

Wonderful. That brought such a smile to my face. Thank you for your random act of kindness!

I'll never forget when I was pregnant a complete stranger walked up to me and told me how beautiful I looked. I've never forgotten that! It totally made my day.

In my paper crafting circles the RAK is well known and we send each other little pieces of handmade art in the mail from time to time.

Liza, and your reply brought a huge smile to mine, thankyou!! :D

Michelle, another thing that's interesting is that remembering positive, happy events makes good things happen in our brains (I hope no nueorscientists read this, they'd be horrified at my description!). They build on each other and get stronger.

I love how you support each other in your crafting circles!

yep it was just really nice and that was from when I was pregnant with #1 so a long time ago !! I imagine some people might be scared to say something like that to a stranger though, sadly you never know if you'll get your head bitten off.

Also we have elderly neighbors who struggle with their lawns so my hubby helps them out.

Michelle, too true, sometimes when you're pregnant you feel pretty crappy, but hopefully a heartfelt compliment would help.

That's lovely of your hubby. Good on him! It's great for the children to see how easy it is to spread kindness.
